We can’t forget that the animals we share this planet with are sentient beings capable of feeling and suffering.
The Greens have campaigned to end animal cruelty at every opportunity. We have long called for the abolition of cruel and inhumane treatment of animals used in sport, recreation and entertainment and for a phasing out of intensive farming practices that are inconsistent with animals’ natural behavioural needs, and better protection for our native wildlife. We want to see an independent body to regulate animal welfare.
On this website you can read more about some of the most pressing issues affecting animals in Victoria and become involved in our campaigns.
